Plainfield Open Houses Leave a comment »
Plainfield Open houses are a great way to see a lot of houses in one day. It’s also great opportunity to narrow down specific Plainfield neighborhoods that you are considering in you new home search. I do not recommend entering into a real estate sales contract where the selling agent acts a dual agent in the transaction that represents both the buyers and seller because in my opinion, it most often poses a conflict of interest for both parties, except for very specific circumstances. While it is still legal in the state of Illinois, I do not personally advise it. Even if you decide you prefer to look at open houses because of the freedom of being able to look when and where you want, I highly recommend working with a Plainfield or Naperville Realtor to represent you individually when it comes to writing a contract. No, a Realtor doesn’t have to accompany you on your visit to each open house, but you do need to disclose that you are working with another agent when you arrive. I know that some people feel more relaxed looking on their own which is why Plainfield open houses are so appealing, but it’s always better to attend open houses with your agent so that they can point out things worth noting and use them to aid in negotiating the best price for you!
